Another minute flew by just thinking of you,
I sit here & I wonder I dream and I daze,
People try to follow my gaze,
Smiling and grinning wonderin too,
How many minutes flew by just thinking of you.
I close my eyes and what do I see,
your beautiful face staring back at me,
I'm alwayz happy dreaming about you,

Hey girl, its me Thought i'd write a lil something to let you know how im doing. well im in college and i'll be graduating in about four months, i really miss you and i think about you every day. i just still cant believe your gone. I had a dream about you a couple nights ago, you came to my door and told me you were home now so dont worry and dont cry cause its all better now, you couldn't stay though you said you had to find your mom and take care of her, you said if i ever needed anything to come next door and talk to you, if that was really true ruby i'd never leave your side, you'd get tired of me:-)
Everyday when Im on my way to school I pass up that place downtown where your mom dropped us off to go get your hair dyed and you said it wouldn't take that long and I believed you! we were there for 4 hours! I fell asleep on the chair waiting 4 u until laura came and picked me up, u stayed and got picked up by one of your homegirls because you were going out that night. you were so happy that you got your hair done when i seen you thats all you could talk about! Well I would give anything to live that day just one more time ruby, just to see that smile that was on your face once more. I love you and your always on my mind girl.

Ruby,
It's me Vanessa! I'm sitting here thinking about the times we had at shool! Good and bad! We weren't the closest, but the memories I'am left with are worth having cause now they mean something!! Over the years we spent in school we grew our seperate ways, but we always had enough respect for each other to say what's up! When we were in class together at Legion, we were partners in crime!! I'm thankful for the times we had and words can't express how I feel now to know that you're gone, but it's never good-bye in my eyes!! It'll just be a while 'til we meet again!! My love and respects go to you and your familia!! I'll never forget you!! You'll always be in my heart!!!! Remember it's never Good-bye!!

To my dearest family the Guevara's I will never forget the first time I met you Laura and the girls. It was about 6years ago. Oh my how time does fly by over the years your family has been kind enough to embrace me as family therfore Ruby is truly my little cousin and always will be. Remember the time me and slam went swimming at the apartment with the kids Ruby was only 10 then. I have always thought she was such a beautiful person. I truly loved her as one of my own. I won't forget all those memories Me and Slam shared with your family. You know Thanksgivings and Christmas. I just makes me laugh to think about her baby doll voice, her beautiful hair and the way she made me laugh. I liked when Slam use to mess with her she use to say I'll just tell my grandpa. It was like yesterday that we were all gathered for another family function at your dad's house and all the kids were around. I thanked god today for giving me a chance to watch such a beautiful young girl grow into a beautiful young lady. Me and Slam truly love you and will always be around. Ruby was our little cousin who was tragically taken from us but we know in our hearts shes always with us. I know words will never ease the pain but memories will make it better because no one can take that away from us. WE LOVE YOU RUBY

Heaven and Earth
For Laura, Ernie, Victor and Family...

When the warmth of the sun touches our face
We see your smile and feel your embrace.
We hear the whisper of love in the wind
And we know that you are close to us again.

The rain speaks of tears and the thunder of pain,
But soon the sun comes the earth to reclaim.
As the days come and go and the world moves on,
We know you're still here, you'll never be gone.

On the night the Angel came and took your hand,
We cried as you left for an unknown land.
But Heaven rejoiced as you came into sight,
For your soul was a diamond, shining so bright!

Dearest Ruby:
Even with a broken heart i remember many wonderful things about you. Like the way you were loved by your grandma Petra, grandpa Ralph and grandma Coco. The joy you brought your mom, my son Victor, your little sisters Olivia, Victoria, also little Ernie. The love you got from all your aunties, uncles, cousins and great grandarents. The many happy times we had at grandpa, and grandma Llano's house with uncle Bob, aunties Liv, Vivianne, and Bonnie. James, Michelle, Christine, Angela, adn Jenny. Uncle Rick and John. And lets not forget the most wonderful times we had with our favorite lovable Aunt Liv who took us everywhere and bought us food and goodies. Although her heart is broken she will miss you dearly and remember you always. Wow, what an abundance of love you shared with all of us. Ruby you became my Grand daughter the minute i saw you in my sons arms at Grandma Llano's house. We all fell in love with you, and i will never forget you. May Jahovah God, be with you always. Till we meet again with Jesus in paradise. You are forever in my heart,
Love your Grandpa Jim

Although I now live far from Sacramento, and although the year in which Ruby was my student has long since passed, I remember her and grieve this loss. When I looked into my students' faces this morning, my heart ached at the memory of a similar young student who was kind to all and very respectful toward adults. I pray for comfort and my sincere sympathy is expressed to her family and friends.
Across the miles, I send a warm embrace.

To the family of Ruby,

I have read of your loss and my heart goes out to you. I wish your family healing and peace. I felt compelled to share this famous poem with you.

I Did Not Die

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

Prayer of Saint Francis Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace!
That where there is hatred, I may bring love.
That where there is wrong,
....I may bring the spirit of forgiveness.
That where there is discord, I may bring harmony.
That where there is error, I may bring truth.
That where there is doubt, I may bring faith.
That where there is despair, I may bring hope.
That where there are shadows, I may bring light.
That where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort,
....than to be comforted.
To understand, than to be understood.
To love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life.

"There is wonderful joy ahead,
even though it is necessary for you
to endure many trials for a while.
These trials are only to test your faith,
to show that it is strong and pure.
It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold,
and your faith is far more precious
to God than mere gold.
So if your faith remains strong
after being tried by fiery trials,
it will bring you much praise and
glory and honor on the day when
Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world."
(1 Peter 1:6-7)God Bless you Laura and family. Ruby is safe now and in the arms of the angels and her father. Finally he gets to hold his babygirl.

I thought I saw your face today,
in the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
"Their work on earth is done."

I thought I heard your voice today,
then laugh your hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say,
"There's peace dear one at last."

I thought I felt your touch today,
in the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The spirit never dies."

I thought I saw my broken heart,
in the crescent of the moon.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The Lord is coming soon."

I thought that you had left me,
for the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say,
"They left you with their love."

I thought that I would miss you so,
and never find my way.
And then I heard the angel say,
"They're with you every day."
"The sun, the wind, the moon, the stars,
will forever be around,
reminding you of the love you shared,
and the peace they've finally found."

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this young woman. I didn't know Ruby personally, she was the beautiful girl behind the counter at the Terriyaki Bowl where I would go for lunch sometimes. She seemed like a regular teen girl and reminded me of myself at that age. She was even sweet enough to put a few cents in the cash register once when I didn't bring enough money for my lunch. I thought that was so sweet. To me, that showed she who she was and showed that somebody raised her right. To her family, my prayers are for you as well as the prayers of others at the Sacramento Children's Home who knew of Ruby from the Terriyaki Bowl restaurant. Much love and support to you at this time.
